Visitors can learn about the history of the park, find out about the diverse bird life or the challenge of invasive species. The audio trail will take visitors through varied habitats- woodlands, meadow, successional scrub, wetlands and aquatic- and provides an onsite introduction to how these habitats function. The Tall Pines Audio Trail is self-guided and free.

The Tall Pines Audio Trail consists of 8 numbered stations, each dedicated to a specific aspect of the park. Each station consists of a wooden post displaying a QR code. Visitors would link to the QR code with a phone or mobile device to hear an approximately 90 sec. talk on the station topic. The station locations are shown on our trail maps.

On Nov. 14, 2021 Scout Troop 7083 of Mantua NJ helped us make this project a reality by installing the 8 station posts as a service project. The Friends of Tall Pines are grateful to the enthusiastic volunteers of Troop 7083 and proud to partner with them to bring this educational tool to the trails of Tall Pines State Preserve.
