We had a very successful litter patrol at Tall Pines State Preserve today. Over 45 volunteers (only some of whom are shown in the photo) from the Wenonah Lions Club, Friends of Tall Pines supporters and SJLWT volunteers,as well as other organizations, came out to lend a hand. We were able to police the parking lot, Bark Bridge Rd. and virtually the entire park, with the exception of the area around Somerset Ave. The park looks great and is essentially litter free. We collected 131 lbs. of bagged trash and 73 lbs. of bagged recyclables as well as three piles of bulk trash items.
The Friends of Tall Pines Committee thanks all of today's participants for an absolutely great job. It is the spirit, energy and commitment of all our volunteers that makes events like today's possible.
